LEARNERSHIPS
What is a learnership?
A learnership is a structured process for gaining theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the workplace. Learners learn on and off the job to gain a qualification and work experience simultaneously. A learnership is occupationally directed and leads to a nationally recognised qualification that is made up of registered unit standards on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
A learnership is governed by a learnership agreement between the learner, an employer and a training provider with funding and approval from a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA).
